Enjoy a day making authentic wood fired pizzas from a locally made Mugnaini wood fired oven with farm fresh produce and local delicacies such as foraged wild mushrooms or authentic charcuterie.
Includes pizza making, wood fired lunch, & wine from a local producer.

Chef Degen started his culinary training in San Francisco at the California Culinary Academy, and then went on to cook at the Michelin starred Acquerello restaurant for two years. He relocated to Healdsburg in 2009, and honed his pizza skills at the beloved SCOPA. After seven years of success, (and becoming a dad) he was recruited to become Sous Chef at J Vineyards & Winery’s Bubble Room for several years.
Upon discovering his love of wine pairings and a brief sabbatical to the Mendocino Coast, Chef Degen returned to Healdsburg and found pizza again…but this time at the beautiful setting of Reeve Wines. Then in Spring of 2022 he decided to go to the source…of pizza ovens, and has been the Culinary Director at Healdsburg’s Mugnaini Wood Fired Ovens for the past two years. You can find him teaching, tossing, and talking wood fired cooking wherever he goes.
